# Olenza > Olenza runs its own full nodes and indexers for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Zcash, Decred and Monero, and offers them free, with limits, as two products under one account and one API key: Olenza Node (JSON-RPC to the nodes) and Olenza Explorer (a free block explorer website plus a REST API). Nothing is resold from another provider. ## Products - [Olenza Node](https://node.olenza.io/): JSON-RPC at `POST https://node.olenza.io/v1/rpc/{chain}`. Each chain speaks its own node's dialect (Bitcoin-style or Monero daemon RPC); the gateway does not translate. A body may be one call or a batch array, except Monero (one call per request; a batch is refused with `INVALID_REQUEST`, not counted). Only a fixed list of methods per chain is allowed (no wallet, peer, node-control or UTXO-set scan methods). - [Olenza Explorer](https://explorer.olenza.io/): free to browse, no account. Olenza Explorer API: `GET https://explorer.olenza.io/api/v1/{chain}/…` (blocks, transactions, addresses as JSON). ## Chains - Bitcoin (`btc`): bitcoin dialect, 45 RPC methods — https://node.olenza.io/btc - Litecoin (`ltc`): bitcoin dialect, 42 RPC methods — https://node.olenza.io/ltc - Zcash (`zec`): bitcoin dialect, 18 RPC methods — https://node.olenza.io/zec - Decred (`dcr`): bitcoin dialect, 47 RPC methods — https://node.olenza.io/dcr - Monero (`xmr`): monero dialect, 16 RPC methods — https://node.olenza.io/xmr ## Authentication - Send the API key in the `X-API-Key: olz_…` header (or `Authorization: Bearer olz_…`). One key works for both products; each product counts against its own limits. - Node only: if a client cannot set headers, the key may go in the path, `https://node.olenza.io/v1/rpc/{chain}/olz_…` (prefer the header). The Explorer API never accepts a key in the URL. ## How to get an API key 1. A person signs up at https://account.olenza.io/signup and confirms the email address. Sign-up runs a small proof-of-work check in JavaScript, so it is done in a browser by a person. 2. They create a key at https://account.olenza.io/keys. The key is shown once and stored only as a hash. 3. That is all: Olenza is free, with the limits below (https://olenza.io/pricing). The explorer website (https://explorer.olenza.io/) needs no key and no account. ## Limits (free; every call is one unit) Olenza Node: - Free: 5 requests/second (burst 10), 10,000 units/day, 300,000 units/month, batch up to 5 calls Olenza Explorer API: - Free: 3 requests/second (burst 6), 5,000 units/day, 100,000 units/month At a limit the API answers HTTP 429 with `Retry-After`. ## Links - [Documentation](https://olenza.io/docs) — also as markdown: https://olenza.io/docs.md, and in full for agents: https://olenza.io/llms-full.txt - [Node OpenAPI 3.1 description](https://node.olenza.io/openapi.json) - [Explorer API OpenAPI 3.1 description](https://explorer.olenza.io/api/openapi.json) - [Explorer API reference with live samples](https://explorer.olenza.io/api) - [Limits](https://olenza.io/pricing) - [Service status](https://olenza.io/status) — machine-readable: https://olenza.io/status.json - [Terms of Service](https://olenza.io/terms) — one free account per person, no reselling raw access, no getting around limits - [Privacy & trust](https://olenza.io/privacy) - Sign up: https://account.olenza.io/signup - Contact: support@olenza.io
