Terms of Service
last updated 2026-10-05These terms are an agreement between you and Olenza ("Olenza", "we", "us"). They cover olenza.io, Olenza Node (node.olenza.io), Olenza Explorer and its API (explorer.olenza.io) and your account (account.olenza.io) — together, "the service". By creating an account, or by using the service without one, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Contact for anything in these terms: [email protected].
1. Who can use Olenza
- You must be at least 18 — or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher — and able to make a binding contract.
- If you use Olenza for a company or other organisation, you accept these terms for it and confirm you may do so; "you" then means that organisation.
- You may not use Olenza if you are subject to sanctions, or if your use would break them (see section 6).
2. Your account and API keys
- One free account per person or organisation. You may keep several API keys in it, up to the limit shown on the Keys page.
- Give a working email address and keep it current: notices about your account, payments and these terms go there.
- You are responsible for everything done with your keys. Keep them secret. If a key may be exposed, revoke it on the Keys page; a revoked key stops working within about 15 seconds.
- You can download everything we hold about your account, or delete the account, at any time in Settings. Deleting revokes every key and ends any time left on a paid plan (see section 4.7).
3. Plans, units and limits
- Every call counts as one unit, whatever the method or endpoint; a batch of N calls counts N. Each product (Node and the Explorer API) has its own plan with requests per second, a burst, and daily and monthly units, shown on the Pricing page and reported in every response's
X-RateLimit-*andX-Quota-*headers. Days and months are UTC. - A call refused because a limit was reached gets HTTP 429 with
Retry-Afterand is not charged. Which other refusals and errors are or are not charged is listed in the Docs. - The free plan is offered as is and may change; see section 11 for notice.
4. Payment and refunds
Paid plans are prepaid. Online payment is not open at the time of writing; until it is, the Billing page says so and plan changes are arranged by email. When it is open, the following applies.
4.1 Prices and periods. Prices are in US dollars per month. You buy 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time. Nothing renews by itself and we never hold a card or any way to charge you again.
4.2 Paying in crypto. You pay the dollar price in a cryptocurrency we accept, through BTCPay Server (our own payment server) or directly to our wallet. The currencies and networks we accept are those shown on the invoice — at present Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether, and USDT or USDC on the Ethereum network (ERC-20). Network fees are yours, on top of the price.
4.3 Rate lock. The crypto amount on an invoice is fixed for 15 minutes from when it opens. A payment sent for the full amount that arrives after that, but within 72 hours, still counts. After 72 hours, contact us.
4.4 When a payment counts. A payment counts once it has enough confirmations on its chain — an unconfirmed or replaceable payment does not. Your plan starts or extends as soon as it counts, and we email a receipt.
4.5 Paying the wrong amount.
- Too little: a shortfall of up to 1% of the invoice is accepted as full payment. A larger shortfall leaves the invoice "underpaid": contact us with the invoice id and, at your choice, pay the difference or have what arrived refunded (less the network fee of sending it back).
- Too much: the plan is granted. Tell us within 30 days and we refund the excess (less the network fee) or add it as plan time, at your choice. An excess smaller than the fee of sending it back is not refunded.
- Direct payments must be the exact amount shown, which identifies your invoice. A different amount is checked by hand, which can take a working day or two.
4.6 Wrong currency, network or address. Send only the currency, on the network, to the address shown on the invoice. Funds sent on another network, in another token, or to an old or wrong address may be impossible for us to see or recover. We will try in good faith when we can reach the funds, but we cannot promise to, and are not responsible for the loss.
4.7 Refunds. Paid time is not refundable once it has started, and is not refunded if you delete your account or we suspend or end it for breaking these terms. You get a refund, pro rata for the whole days left, if we end a paid plan or the service for any other reason, or if we raise a price or change a paid plan to your disadvantage and you ask within 30 days. Refunds are paid in the cryptocurrency you paid with, worth the US-dollar amount due at the rate on the day we send it, to an address you give us, less the network fee. Nothing here limits a refund right the law of your country gives you.
4.8 Changing plan. Buying the plan you already have adds the months after your current period. Switching to another plan starts it at once and turns the unused time on the old plan into extra time on the new one, valued at list prices. A plan we set up for you by hand without an end date is not replaced by a purchase.
4.9 Taxes. Any tax due on your side on what you buy is yours to pay.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- get around limits or quotas — for example with several free accounts for one person or organisation, by sharing keys between users, or by rotating accounts, keys or IP addresses;
- resell or give away access to Olenza Node or the Explorer API as such — as an RPC or API service, a proxy, or by sharing your keys — without our written agreement. Building your own app, website or service that uses Olenza to serve its own users is fine;
- attack, probe, scan or overload the service, try to reach anything that is not a documented endpoint, or get around its security;
- scrape the explorer website in bulk instead of using the API;
- use the service to break the law, including laws on fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing, or to harm others.
6. Sanctions and the law
You confirm that you are not named on, or owned or controlled by someone named on, a sanctions list of the United Nations Security Council, the United States (OFAC), the European Union or the United Kingdom; that you are not in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions; and that you will not use Olenza for anyone who is, or to deal with property such sanctions block. We may refuse, suspend or end an account, decline a payment, or not offer the service in a country, when we believe that keeping it would break sanctions or the law that applies to us.
7. Suspension and ending the agreement
- By you: stop at any time. Delete your account in Settings.
- By us, for breaking these terms: we may slow, suspend or close a key or account. Where we reasonably can, we email you first, say why, and give you a chance to fix it. For security threats, abuse that harms the service or other users, or a legal requirement, we act first and tell you after.
- By us, for any other reason: we may end your account, a plan or the whole service with 30 days' notice by email, and refund unused paid time as in section 4.7.
- If you think we suspended you by mistake, email [email protected] with your account email and the
X-Request-Idof a refused call.
8. Your data
What we store, for how long, and how to get it or have it deleted is set out on the Privacy & trust page, which is part of these terms. In short: an account is an email address and a password hash; usage is a count of units per key per day, never the content of your calls; we do not sell your data. Records of invoices and payments are kept for accounting after an account is deleted, linked to a placeholder rather than your email.
9. Availability
We aim for 99.5% availability each calendar month for Olenza Node and the Explorer API. This is a target, not a guarantee: there are no service credits. Outages customers could notice are logged at olenza.io/status, measured by our own health checks every minute. We may take the service down for maintenance, and will try to announce longer planned work in advance.
10. Blockchain data, no advice, no custody
- Blockchain data comes from public networks through our own nodes and indexes. Blocks can be reorganised and transactions dropped or replaced; a node or index can be behind, wrong or briefly out of service. We do not promise that any data is complete, current, correct or final. Check anything important against a second source before relying on it.
- Prices, charts and statistics are information, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
- Olenza never holds your funds or private keys and cannot move, freeze or recover anything on a blockchain for you. Transactions you broadcast through Olenza are your own, and cannot be undone.
11. Changes to the service, prices and these terms
- We may improve, change or remove features. We email you at least 30 days before a change that reduces a paid plan you hold or that removes a chain or product you pay for, and the refund rule of section 4.7 applies.
- New prices apply only to invoices opened after the change; time you have paid for keeps its price. We announce price increases for paid plans at least 30 days ahead.
- Free plan limits may change; we give at least 7 days' notice on the Pricing page and by email to free users when we reduce them, except to stop abuse.
- We email registered users at least 30 days before a material change to these terms takes effect, and show the date at the top. Using the service after that date means you accept the change; if you do not, stop using it and ask for the refund of section 4.7. Corrections and changes that do not reduce your rights apply when published.
12. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind — including that it is fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that its data is accurate.
13. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, trades, data, goodwill or opportunities, or for losses from a blockchain transaction, however caused;
- our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that by law cannot be limited.
14. Your responsibility to us
If someone else claims against us because of how you used the service in breach of these terms or the law, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.
15. Disputes and governing law
- Tell us first: email [email protected] and we will try to settle it within 30 days.
- These terms are governed by the law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where Olenza is operated. Disputes that cannot be settled go to the competent courts of Vietnam.
- If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or your right to bring a claim in its courts where that law gives you one.
16. General
- These terms, the Privacy & trust page, and the plan details on the Pricing page are the whole agreement between us about the service.
- If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up.
- You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it to someone who takes over the service, and will tell you by email.
- We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as network-wide blockchain faults, power or data-centre outages, or attacks.
- Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to [email protected].
- These terms are written in English. If we publish a translation and the two differ, the version more favourable to you as a consumer applies.
